Minitube - Watch Youtube on Ubuntu without Flash!!

Posted in:Tips 'n Tricks

MiniTube is a Youtube client for Ubuntu/Linux and Mac OS X. It was developed by Flavio Tordini. It is much more power efficient than other similar players as it does not require flash. The auto complete popup feature of MiniTube enables you to locate your favorite videos from the Youtube channels related to the entered keywords.

MiniTube’s fresh version 1.4 is now available with fixes of the playback issues found in its previous versions and it helps you to explore, watch and most importantly download Youtube videos in Ubuntu from the desktop without installing a flash player plug-in. Minitube claims that it can play videos at a resolution of 1080p and being a non-flash player dependent application it can be a more energy efficient alternative for laptops and netbooks. It promises to be a new TV-like experience to its users .

To install Minitube in Ubuntu
