Las Vegas Raiders (+4) vs Los Angeles Chargers

Both of these teams improved their team via the trade in the offseason as the Raiders traded for wide receiver Davante Adams while the Chargers traded for outside linebacker Khalil Mack.

However, there is a reason why the Las Vegas Raiders made the postseason last season while the Los Angeles Chargers failed to do so.

The new Raiders Head Coach Josh McDaniels should be successful with this team and keep this game within a field goal so go with the Las Vegas Raiders to cover the spread.

Kansas City Chiefs (-3) vs Arizona Cardinals

This game feels a little off. I believe in Patrick Mahomes to dominate, even without wide receiver Tyreek Hill as he was traded to Miami.

The Arizona Cardinals are going to struggle as quarterback Kyler Murray seemed to not want to be there in Arizona and they will be without wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins as he will be suspended for the first six games of the regular season.

The Cardinals lost a lot of talent during the offseason while the Chiefs have the same talent at worst with the addition to the wide receiver group to replace Hill. Kansas City is the better team in this game so go with them to cover the spread on the road and win by a touchdown.

Cleveland Browns vs Carolina Panthers (+4.5)

Source: panthers.com

This game is very difficult to bet as new Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson is up in the air as he could be suspended due to his off the field issues.

The Panthers have done well in the NFL Draft and should have running back Christian McCaffrey healthy and that will be able to help them. Carolina will either have Sam Darnold or rookie Matt Corral under center and should be able to score enough points to keep up with a potential backup quarterback in Cleveland. The Browns are not having a deep receiving core and that will be a huge advantage.

All in all, go with the Carolina Panthers to cover the 4.5 point spread at home as an underdog.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Washington Commanders (-4)

Even after selecting the first overall pick in two consecutive NFL Drafts and a brand new head coach, I have not bought into the improvement of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Washington Commanders decided to get a decent quarterback by trading with the Indianapolis Colts to acquire Carson Wentz. The Commanders have one of the best defensive fronts that you can have and having an offense with wide receiver Terry McLaurin and running back Antonio Gibson can carry on the offense.

I do not see quarterback Trevor Lawrence taking that next step as a NFL quarterback and that means they will not be able to score many points. Go with the Washington Commanders to cover the spread at home and win at home in this game.
