Maverick Theme for Windows 7 - Give Windows a dose of Ubuntu!!

DeviantArt has just released a theme which make Windows 7 look like Ubuntu. Titled "Maverick for Win7" the theme tries to mimic the feel of Maverick's Ambiance. The theme includes wallpapers and a Windows 7 start icon. After installation the controls move to the upper portion of the desktop. The notifications appear on top of the desktop as on Maverick.

Installing Internet Explorer for Linux distros is still not an easy thing to do, especially for the newer versions, say, IE7 or IE8. Firefox is an open source alternative which is not only a better web browser but also a more secure one as well. Mostly you will have to install IE in your linux machine for some testing purposes or because some sites dont show up properly in browsers other than IE. If that is the reason for you to install IE in Ubuntu, IEs4Linux is the way out.

Ubuntu 9.04 aka Jaunty Jackalope is latest among Ubuntu releases and is ready to debue on April 20, 2009. It has many new features and you can also get your copy of Ubuntu 9.04 for free. In his interview with Internetnews Shuttleworth said, "The benefits to consumers and industry of having an alternative are very substantial. Any change in the status quo is an opportunity."

The product is called Ubuntu Wubi installer and it comes along with Ubuntu 8.04 and Ubuntu 8.10 live CD. Unlike normal installation process, Wubi doesnot require any changes to your partitions. All you need is a free space of atleast 4GB in your PC with Windows XP or Vista as the OS.
