Are you a Windows or Linux user just waiting to get the Apple experience on your own PC??Well the wait is over. Presenting Pear OS, the ultimate Apple experience on a Non-Mac PC.Read on to find out more on Pear OS.

People have wanted to run the Mac OSX on PC hardware, like  Intel and AMD for a very long time. But that wish did not bear fruit easily because MACs come preinstalled with their OSX and running their OSX natively on PC hardware is near impossible. But what is possible is running their OSX on an emulator, like Pear OS. Though the fact remains that the full MAC OSX experience as on a real MAC won’t be possible, this emulation will provide you with a way to try out MAC OSX before you head out to get an original MAC

Pear OS is a Linux distro based on Ubuntu. The aim of Pear OS is to provide the user with ultimate MAC OSX experience. Apple seems to be their obvious target. And this can be supported by their logo which is eerily similar to that of Apple’s, compounded by the fact of their site being taken down just before their recent Pear OS 3.0 release, just like Apple does before any release. The look, design and layout totally mirrors Apple’s OSX complete with Mac icons ,a Launchpad, an app store, and much more.

Its development started in early August 2011, and its first version was released on August 15 2011. The most recent release is Pear OS Linux Panther 3. Pear OS 3.0  features a highly customized GNOME 3 desktop environment, that offers you an attractive and brand new workstation having only the features you  really require.Devoid of the Unity interface it has a dock and Mac OSX like themes and icons .It has applications like Opera web browser, Empathy instant messaging client, Sylpheed email client, Brasero CD burning utility, Synaptic Package Manager, Shotwell picture viewer and organizer, BleachBit system cleaner, and Back In Time system backup utility. It also features a screenshot utility, a calculator, a text editor, a PPA manager, documents and contacts organizer, PDF viewer, and a terminal. And if that was not enough, like Apple ,it includes an Appstore to help you easily find and install applications on your system, allowing app browsing by category and quick search, and offering user reviews, screenshots and developer descriptions.

The brains or the lack of it behind Ubuntu Manual. Crazy about Linux, hates windows except for the fact that it runs many of his favorite games by default. Loves blogging
